Nendoroid Yoko Review

Today we are going to review…

Nendoroid#53: Yoko! from the famous mecha series Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. This nendo is based from the 14 year old self(but I saw some info that she’s actually 18 here) of Yoko which in the anime is from episode 1 to 15. The main character of the anime, Simon, is the same age as Yoko. But despite having the same age as him, Yoko is a lot more matured(both physically and mentally) than him. She wields a long range sniper rifle which was based from Barrett M82. Yoko is actually the reason why I watch Gurren Lagann, I just got curious who Yoko is and started watching the anime. The anime was awesome and I suggest that you watch it if you haven’t yet(because it almost made me cry).  Anyway, just click here to read more about Yoko and here to read more about Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

What’s inside the box? (7/10)

  • 3 face plates
  • 1 pair of straight arms
  • 1 pair of arms for holding the rifle
  • 1 right hand poking her cheeks
  • 1 pair of straight legs
  • 1 pair of bent legs
  • 1 visor
  • 1 scarf
  • 1 sniper rifle with 2 interchangeable straps
  • 1 Nendoroid stand(clamp type)

I think she comes with a fair amount of accessories.

I must say that she  is really detailed! Down to every curve of her body and the sniper rifle as well. The sculpting is so accurate that even her under boob navel is visible! It’s also painted really well, the design on her top and her shoes were so well made.

Sparkling golden hair pins~ ヽ(°◇° )ノ

Those things are burning hot… ✖‿✖

This made me go “Awesome…. ⊙△⊙”

The flame on her boots… O_O

The problem I saw here was the base was not the best type for the figure. Even though the figure was had some extra joints, because of the base it was hard to make poses. There are also times when she leans backward and falls.

You can lean her forward and backward because of the nendo joint on her waist. Although you can’t bend her that much because some space shows.

This thing doesn’t look stable but it actually is. It never falls out when I put it on her.

The strap is a little bit elastic but be careful when you’re trying to strap the rifle on Yoko because it might split into two because it is kinda thin. =w=

With this joint you can recreate a scene where her hair is being blown by the wind or some thing like that.

It took me more than 20 minutes to disassemble this thing. щ(ಠ益ಠщ)

This thing is so hard to dismantle and assemble! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Her original market price was 3,500 JPY( 1,734.37 PHP/42.40 USD/51.78 SGD/32.61 EUR) but I got her for 3,040PHP (6,134.73 JPY /90.78 SGD/74.38 USD/57.10 EUR). She is quite rare(I think) she’s quite old. Her release date was around February of 2009(3 years ago). You still get what you payed for…That is! if you got her for a cheap price. Well for me I think I still got what I paid for. =w=

I think Yoko is an awesome Nendoroid because the details are so accurate. But the base restrains her from movement and that thing is so annoying. LOL. If you like sexy Nendoroids and detailed small figure then I suggest getting her. If you’re not much of a fan of sexy nendos… well it’s an obvious no because she’s just too sexy for a Nendoroid and for a 14 year old! LOL.

  • Very detailed.
  • Good for display.
  • Sexy… ヾ(゚∀゚ゞ)

  • Not that articulate because of the base.
  • The base is really annoying.

This was actually scheduled to be posted last December 11, 2012 before my figure collecting anniversary. But I posted it today anyway. Anyway, hope you liked this review and see you on my next one! ☆ミ(o*・ω・)ノ
