Nendoroid Aisaka Taiga Review

Today we’re going to review…

Nendoroid#185a: Aisaka Taiga!!!

I’m pretty sure that most of you people already know who she is. But for those who don’t, She’s from a very famous anime(based from my observation), Toradora. The story revolves around Ryuji, who has a very gentle personality. But despite his efforts to get along with everyone, his delinquent-like appearance always scares the people around him. And the there’s Tiaga, who despite being small and harmless in appearance gets angry easily and most of the time gets violent, which is mainly the reason why she got nicknamed “Palm Top Tiger”. When they both discovered that each has a crush on each others best friend, they decided to cooperate with each other to win the hearts of their crushes. If you haven’t watched the anime I think you should specially if you like animes with a slice of life genre. Anyway, click here to read more about Taiga and here for Toradora.

Actually this isn’t my Nendoroid, it’s my sister’s, it was MISB(Mint In Sealed Box) until I opened it to do this review. This Nendoroid was manufactured by ASCII Media Works. There are two versions of this Nendoroid, the regular and Dengeki exclusive version. This is the Dengeki exclusive one.

What’s inside the box? (7/10)

  • 1 body (straight arms and legs attached)
  • 3 face plates (one’s attached to the body)
  • A left hand holding a bokken
  • A pair arms crossed together
  • Palm Top Tiger
  • Nendoroid stand (Leg clamp type)

The regular release doesn’t include the smiling faceplate. I guess that’s the thing that makes this figure an exclusive. (´Д` )

Good details! It’s quite accurate. I didn’t see any paint bleeds except on one of the buttons on her uniform(the button doesn’t look circular). The hair looks great! very Taiga-like! The figure has that “Taiga-feel” in it which is good.

Sailor Fuku Ver. on the left and Dengeki Ver. on the right.

I love this little fellow. It looks so cute~ (。-`ω´-)

Articulation of the figure was the same as any other nendo but the base restricts leg movement. The figure was quite unstable because of the base and there are times when Taiga tumbles over because the base can’t support her weight too well.

The base is quite different from a “under the skirt type”(bases like Sakuya’s). They’re more like leg clamps… And “under the skirt” bases are much more stable. ( ̄ω ̄;)

There’s also this problem about how the figure floats when you place it correctly on the stand. This also contributes to the likeliness of the figure to fall over. ( ̄ω ̄;)

Before, I thought the boken is attached from the hand but it’s not.

Original price is 3,500 JPY(1,512.21 PHP/ 46.02 SGD/ 37.14 USD) but we got her for 2,510 PHP(5,810.30 JPY/ 76.39 SGD/ 61.66 USD). I checked at MFC and it looks like the exclusive and regular run have the same price. I think this is quite cheap for an exclusive nendo(which is good).

A good nendo! It falls over from time to time but considering the feel that the figure gives off, you might forget that annoying little problem. If your going to grab one of these I suggest getting the Dengeki exclusive for the extra faceplate.

  • Quite detailed.
  • Has that “character feel” in it.
  • Palm Top Tiger~ ヽ(*´Д`*)ノ

  • Unstable and annoying base is annoying and unstable. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

And thus concludes another nendo review!
I also made a review of Nendoroid#185b: Aisaka Taiga: Sailor Fuku Version. You might want to check that out as well!

Thanks for reading and see ya~  ☆ミ(o*・ω・)ノ
