Loots from February to June 2014.
After such a long break I’m finally able to post my epic toy collector soul searching journey! ＼(=^‥^)/’ A lot of things happened since the start of the year. School pretty much ate all my time and well I just had to take a break from Nendoroid stuff to focus. While on break I started to look at other toy lines. A lot of them got me hook for quite sometime.
Early February 2014
February 1, 2014, two of my pre-orders from My Japanese Hobby arrived. Got the 3D puzzles at Trinoma.
And here are pictures I took while unboxing them.
I also made a stop motion animation of the 3D puzzles. It took me 3 hours to make the castle and an hour to make the confectionery store and that doesn’t include the editing part. I only used Windows Movie Maker(because I deleted my copy of Sony Vegas for some reason). It’s a little bit crappy so please bear with me. （ﾉ´д｀）
Late February- Early March 2014
I got addicted to Hexbugs. They’re robotic toys that run on LR44 batteries. Pretty much it served as a stress reliever for the approaching finals week.
Late March-April 2014
I started to buy more Halo MegaBloks. I got a mini collection inside one of my closets. Pretty much started collecting these things the same time as my Nendoroids but decided to stop at some point. Way back I wanted to make stop motion animation using these but as of now there are still none.
These 3 were quite special. I got them from a brickster(some one who collects Lego, MegaBloks, etc.) He preferred meet-ups so I agreed and met him. We talked for a few minutes and before we parted he asked me if he could take one last picture of these 3. Of course I said yes.
It was quite an experience. I never thought that there would be someone who will be attached to such a small toy. It reminded me of my early days in collecting Nendoroids. Most of my first online collector buddies have stopped. It was quite sad seeing them go and our relationships slowly drifting away. ~(>_<~)
May – Early June 2014
Takara Tomy’s cute animal figures caught my eyes. Quite a delight having cute animal figure by your side when you’re having summer classes. （ ´∀｀）
And Eventually their die-cast vehicles.
And then around the end of summer class I watched “Train Brain Express” on Screen Red. I started to like trains and got one of Takara Tomy’s battery operated trains.
And the last loot for this post, Gashapons. A pretty funny story since I don’t know that guy on the right. I placed my tokens on the wrong machine. I was confused at first since I didn’t know the character that I got. I looked closely and I saw bishie characters on the piece of paper inside. I burst in laughter after realizing my mistake and bought another set of tokens to get the correct one. （。-＿-。）
After reflecting for almost 6 months, I have to say that Nendoroids have a special place in my heart. Compared to the other toys that gave me temporary refuge during the times that I was down. Nendoroids give me a completely different happiness and excitement.
Thanks for reading and see you on my next post! ☆ﾐ(o*･ω･)ﾉ
